This is way past the date I said I would post these but about a month ago I went to an auction with vintage Americana. I was a rookie at the auction and enjoyed looking at all the classic Americana there. Here were some of the signs I took a picture of. Most of these signs went for at least 100 dollars, some such at the Studebaker picture above went for over 1000 dollars. Sorry this is iPhone quality photos!

The sign below is the sign that I was lucky enough to get my hands on. I have always been a big supporter of Cadillac and I truly believe they are almost the standard of the world yet again. It is a neat little sign that I have never seen before and it looked very Art Deco to me.

If you ever get a chance to go to an auction to buy something I suggest you do it. Be it a car or an old sign like this they are a lot of fun!

Man I love all these old signs.

We're looking to get a new house this year, I'm totally doing the garage up in old Mercury and Ford signs.

Thats exactly what I bought the Cadillac sign for! Now I just need a garage to put it in #collegeprobs. The prices though… some of them will give you a heart attack!

Oh I know they are.

The real question is do you have a Cadillac to match your sign?

That's why I picked Mercury and Ford signs. the 1968 Mercury Montego will be parked underneath the signs!

I love old muscle too! Not sure I can afford my tastes though. Personally I love the new Cadillacs ATS, CTS, XLR. I think in the future I am going to buy an ATS preferably a new coupe. Time will tell though so we shall see!

I love on signs and cans. Here's some of my garage's transformation over the last 2 years.

Most of the ones on the front by the little door I made. And I painted the clay smith cam bird on the wall. The majority of the rest I got at auctions and antique stores.
Have fun!

Awesome. I like the way you think.

But also remember old doesn't always mean expensive. Remember this = $2,500.

Really?? Thats awesome for 2500! Did you ever do an Opp review on it?

Not a full review but I've done a lot of posts about it.

The upgrades I've done since I bought it. Which are: Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake, 4 Barrel Holley Carb (had a 2 barrel originally), air cleaner, and dual flowmaster super 44s.

It's a huge upgrade.

I got myself a lot of car for very cheap. It has about 50k miles on it (original) and I have the original window sticker. It's an odd rare combo that includes the Cyclone GT package (which was kind enough to give me power steering and sway bars, but not power brakes, or disc brakes). It's a BLAST to drive. The extra HP/Torque from the upgrades is like night and day.

That is awesome sounds like a blast! Is it very reliable? Also why did they put vinyl tops on a lot of cars from that era? Was it a styling thing?

Completely a styling thing. Reliability? The only issue I've had is overheating. I'm going to go through the cooling system soon. I've done a new thermostat, probably going to go with a colder one and maybe a new radiator. Possibly a fan shroud (no it seriously does not have one lol).

I'll enjoy random comments on old write ups from you lol.

The best part is that the upgrades were CHEAP. free chrome air cleaner from a friend. 25 carb + 50 rebuilt kit, 50 intake manifold, 250 for the full dual exhaust install welded and installed. 130 for the mufflers.
